Dr. Annest has been a member of Vascular Institute of the Rockies since its inception.
He received his medical degree from the University of Washington. He completed his
surgical residency at Albany Medical Center, Albany NY. Thereafter, he performed
his vascular fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Before
coming to Denver in 1995, he worked for ten years at the Guthrie Clinic in Upstate
Pennsylvania. There he practiced vascular surgery and was clinical professor of surgery
at SUNY and Hahnemann Universities.
At the Guthrie Clinic, he participated in the education and training of general surgical
residents in a free standing approved surgical residency program. He is board certified
in both vascular and general surgery and is fellowship trained in trauma.
Here in Denver, Dr. Annest sees patients with all forms of arterial and venous disease,
practices in the Denver Wound Healing Clinic, and travels as an outreach physician
to vascular clinics in Kansas and Colorado. He receives patients from across the
country suffering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. He has been a national lecturer
on that subject and has participated in an innovative and promising approach to treat
patients with recurrent brachial plexus problems after thoracic outlet surgery.
Dr. Annest has been married to his wife, Carol, since 1972. He is father to three
incredible children and has 6 grandchildren. He likes to golf and ski and attends
Lookout Mountain Community Church.
